Confidentiality, Rights and Responsibilities 

Homegrown Healing assures each client the protection of their basic human, civil, and constitutional rights by assuring that clients are:

  • To be treated with respect and dignity.
  • To receive services regardless of race, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or handicap.
  • To understand the purpose of services recommended or court-ordered.
  • To have records kept confidential except when a release of such information is authorized by law or by the client.
  • Able to make a grievance without restraint, interference, or coercion; to receive a copy of the complaint/grievance procedures.

As a client of Homegrown Healing, you have the following responsibilities:

  • To abide by the rules and regulations of the clinic, as they are made known to you.
  • To respect the rights and property of other clients, staff, and the clinic.
  • To cancel sessions with 24-hour notice.
  • Notify changes in contact information or insurance lapses.
  • To participate in the program.

Confidentiality Policy

  • The purpose of this policy is to protect the confidentiality rights of you and/or your child. Confidentiality is important in developing safe and trustworthy relationships. However, an exception is made if the client has signed a release of information with any clinic (i.e., Department of Human Services, School, Physician, Mental Health Provider, spouse, partner, etc.
  • In addition, Griffith Centers team member is required by law to report any information regarding harm to yourself or others (i.e., suicide or suspected/known child abuse, etc.) according to Colorado Revised Statute 19-3-304 of the Children’s Code.
  • Drug and Alcohol information cannot be released to any organization without the signature of you and/or the youth involved. A parental signature does not suffice.
  • If you have an open D & N (Dependency and Neglect) case, your therapist is required to report any violation of a protection or restraining order that affects the children on the case.
  • Case information may be shared during clinical supervision.
  • Also, information such as your diagnosis is shared with the billing office and other billing safe to bill your insurance company.
